Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes discussed the mass firings within federal agencies in the latest episode of their podcast, Pantsuits and Lawsuits. The layoffs have affected entities such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Centers for Disease Control, and nuclear weapons programs.

Max Rose, a Senior Advisor for the VetVoice Foundation and former U.S. Congressman, joined the discussion to provide insight into how these dismissals impact veterans, government efficiency, and national security.

The episode also covered legal challenges against the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Nessel and Mayes led a coalition of 14 states in filing a lawsuit challenging an unlawful delegation of executive power to Elon Musk. Additionally, they joined a group of 20 attorneys general in suing President Donald Trump and several federal agencies over illegal mass layoffs.

Nessel commented on their conversation with Rose: “It was incredibly insightful talking to Max about what it’s like on the ground for federal employees facing this illegal, unprecedented upheaval.” She emphasized that these decisions have significant consequences for veterans losing access to essential services.

Pantsuits and Lawsuits aims to break down complex legal topics biweekly. The podcast offers listeners insights into major legal cases and policy debates through discussions led by Attorneys General Nessel and Mayes.

The latest episode is available on major podcast platforms.
