A New Haven man, Gregory Grant, has admitted to a methamphetamine trafficking offense. Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Marc H. Silverman, and Ketty Larco-Ward, Inspector in Charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service's Boston Division, announced that Grant pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport.

Court documents reveal that from January 2022 to March 2024, Tyrone Brown allegedly mailed parcels containing methamphetamine pills from Georgia to addresses linked to Grant in New Haven. Investigators identified around 79 suspicious parcels sent from Brown to Grant during this period. In January 2023, a court-authorized search intercepted a parcel containing over four kilograms of multicolored pills with methamphetamine.

Grant admitted guilt to conspiracy charges related to distributing and possessing with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. This offense carries a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years and could lead up to life imprisonment. Sentencing is scheduled for June 11.

Grant has been detained since his arrest on March 27, 2024.

Brown, aged 33 from Lithonia, Georgia, faces indictment charges and is currently being pursued by law enforcement authorities.

Acting U.S. Attorney Silverman emphasized that an indictment does not equate guilt; charges remain allegations until proven beyond reasonable doubt.

The investigation involves the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Narcotics and Bulk Cash Trafficking Task Force comprising members from various agencies including Hartford, Plainville, and Meriden Police Departments. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Nathaniel J. Gentile and Jocelyn Courtney Kaoutzanis are prosecuting the case.
