Attorney General Kris Mayes has announced a settlement with Urban Wood, LLC's owner, resolving an investigation into the company's failure to deliver custom wood furnishings or issue refunds as promised. The settlement requires the owner to pay $32,000 in restitution and adhere to injunctive relief prohibiting conduct that violates the Arizona Consumer Fraud Act.
"Online shoppers have a reasonable expectation that the goods they are paying for will arrive as described and in a prompt manner. Arizonans, if an online retailer doesn't follow through on their end of the bargain and you believe you’ve been defrauded, I encourage you to file a complaint with my office so we can see how we may be able to help," said Attorney General Mayes. "Let this also be a warning to businesses—keep your promises to consumers, or you will hear from my office."
Urban Wood operated from 2016 until January 2024 on Etsy and its company website, offering goods to consumers in Arizona and nationwide. Consumers do not need to file complaints; the Attorney General’s Office will contact eligible consumers regarding refunds.
Assistant Attorney General Suzanne Pendergast handled this case. Those who believe they have been victims of consumer fraud can file complaints at www.azag.gov/consumer or contact the Arizona Attorney General’s Office via phone.
