The California Supreme Court has expressed its concern over the issues that occurred during the administration of the February 2025 California Bar Examination. The court acknowledged reports of technical failures, delays, and other irregularities affecting last week's exam.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the court apologized for the situation and recognized the disappointment, stress, and frustration it caused to some applicants. "The court regrets this situation and apologizes for the disappointment, stress, and frustration experienced by some applicants," read part of the statement.

Currently, efforts are underway to determine the full scope and causes of these problems. The court has tasked the State Bar, along with the vendor responsible for administering the exam, to deliver an expedited report detailing these issues. This information is deemed essential in deciding how to provide appropriate remedies for those affected.

In response to these events, the court has instructed the State Bar to plan for an in-person format for administering the July 2025 California Bar Examination. "In the interim, the court directs the State Bar to plan on administering the July 2025 California Bar Examination in the traditional in-person format," stated their release.
