The Delaware Department of Justice's Consumer Protection Unit (CPU) is set to observe National Consumer Protection Week from March 2 to 8 by organizing in-person events and disseminating digital content focused on consumer protection education and prevention. As part of the initiative, the DOJ has unveiled Delaware’s top 10 scams for 2024 and plans to share more digital content via social media throughout the week.

On March 4, CPU representatives will host a table at the Trabant University Center at the University of Delaware from 9 am to 5 pm. Additionally, CPU members will engage with constituents across the state in collaboration with state legislators, including Representative Yearick on March 5 and Representative Hilovsky on March 7.

The comprehensive list of Delaware’s top scams for 2024, along with a full library of educational videos produced in partnership with organizations such as the Federal Trade Commission, National Consumer Protection Bureau, AARP of Delaware, and Better Business Bureau, is available at de.gov/ncpw. Residents who suspect they have been victims of fraud are encouraged to report it at de.gov/consumercomplaint.
