Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel have introduced a new podcast titled "Pantsuits and Lawsuits." The podcast aims to provide insights into news, justice, and related topics through discussions led by the two attorneys general.
The podcast will cover complex legal subjects in an engaging manner. Mayes and Nessel plan to explore significant legal cases, analyze policy debates at both state and national levels, and discuss the role of attorneys general in shaping justice. In Episode 1, titled "About the Podcast," Mayes and Nessel discuss their journeys to becoming chief legal officers of their respective states and their reasons for launching this podcast.
Episode 2 focuses on "Pig Butchering" scams targeting seniors in Arizona and Michigan. Guests Alex Juarez and Mark Fetterhoff from AARP join them to talk about recognizing fraudsters.
Episode 3 covers birthright citizenship following recent court victories that temporarily blocked an executive order banning it. Guests Reyna Montoya from Aliento AZ and Susan Reed from the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center discuss its impact on families in both states.
