A Harlan, Kentucky woman has been sentenced to over 20 years in prison for her role in a fentanyl trafficking conspiracy that led to an overdose death. Leslie Brock, aged 59, received a 250-month sentence from U.S. District Judge Claria Horn Boom on February 19.

Evidence presented during the trial revealed that from January to October 2023, Brock conspired with Brendan Miller to distribute more than 400 grams of fentanyl. The distribution chain included trips to Lexington where Brock obtained the drugs before distributing them in Harlan County. One transaction resulted in a fatal overdose after Miller passed on the drugs he received from Brock.

Brock was convicted at trial in October 2024. Her co-defendant, Miller, admitted guilt and was sentenced to 132 months followed by three years of supervised release. A third individual involved, Aaron Robinson, also pled guilty and received a sentence of 63 months with four years of supervised release for his role involving drug possession and firearms.

Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky Paul McCaffrey announced the sentencing alongside DEA Special Agent Jim Scott, Kentucky State Police Commissioner Phillip J. Burnett Jr., and Auburn Police Chief Cedric Anderson.

The investigation was carried out by multiple agencies including the DEA, Kentucky State Police (KSP), and Auburn Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Justin Blankenship prosecuted the case.

Upon completion of her prison term, Brock will be subject to five years under supervision by the U.S. Probation Office as mandated by federal law which requires serving at least 85% of her sentence.
