The Delaware Division of the Arts is hosting the 14th Annual Delaware State Employee Art Exhibition, featuring works from state employees and their families. The exhibition is open to the public at the Arts Center/Gallery at Delaware State University in Dover from February 25 to March 21, 2025.
A total of 209 employees and family members have submitted artwork for this year's competition, which offers awards and cash prizes across various categories: Adult (Amateur, Intermediate, and Professional), Teen, and Youth. Prizes range from $50 to $400, with additional Best of Show and People’s Choice Awards.
Governor Matt Meyer emphasized the role of creativity in innovation within state agencies. “Creativity is at the heart of innovation, and Delaware state employees embody that every day—whether through problem-solving, collaboration, or finding new ways to serve the people of Delaware,” he stated. Jessica Ball, Director of the Delaware Division of the Arts, highlighted art's impact on community life: “Art is an integral part of our daily lives. It inspires, connects, and enriches our communities.”
An awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, March 9, where visitors can view artworks and celebrate with light refreshments.
The exhibition is sponsored by the National Arts Program in partnership with the State of Delaware and judged by professional artists. It provides a platform for artists at all levels to display their work and compete for prizes. Participants must be current employees or immediate family members thereof within the State of Delaware.
