A St. Louis man, Antonio Dixson, was convicted on Wednesday of seven charges related to drug and firearm offenses. The 37-year-old felon was found guilty by a jury on two counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, two counts of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, two counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of possession of a defaced firearm.

The evidence presented at trial revealed that on December 1, 2020, Dixson was stopped in Wentzville, Missouri. At the time, he was in a Honda SUV that had previously evaded officers from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Upon exiting the vehicle's rear seat, a Glock pistol fell from his waist while another revolver was visible in his pocket. Authorities discovered ammunition and various drugs including fentanyl, methamphetamine, PCP, and cocaine on his person.

Following this incident and subsequent indictment, Dixson was arrested again on February 25, 2021. St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers apprehended him after observing him driving against traffic in a Mercury Villager. This arrest led to the discovery of additional firearms and drugs in his pants pockets.

Dixson's status as a convicted felon legally prohibits him from possessing firearms. He is set for sentencing on June 3 and faces a minimum sentence of ten years imprisonment.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Wentzville Police Department, and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jason Dunkel and Hal Goldsmith are handling the prosecution.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The program emphasizes building community trust, supporting violence prevention organizations, prioritizing strategic enforcement actions, and assessing outcomes.
