On February 18, 2025, United States District Court Judge William H. Steele sentenced Sheldon Terrell Peters to 105 months in prison for cocaine trafficking. The sentence includes 75 months for possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and an additional 30 months for violating supervised release conditions from a previous conviction in 2017 for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Court documents reveal that between September and October 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Violent Crimes Task Force conducted three controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Peters at his residence in Mobile. These transactions involved quantities of 47.5 grams, 46.3 grams, and 105.6 grams of crack cocaine.
The investigation was carried out by the FBI and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorney George F. May prosecuted the case.
