Daniel Criswell Lee, a 55-year-old resident of Sumter, South Carolina, has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for his involvement in a wire fraud scheme. The court also ordered him to pay $2.8 million in restitution.

The investigation revealed that Lee, while working as a project manager for Agile Infrastructure Service, LLC, manipulated the bidding process to secure government contracts. After securing these contracts, he diverted funds intended for project work to corporations he controlled and used the money for personal gain. The total amount misappropriated by Lee was at least $2.8 million.

United States District Court Judge Sherri A. Lydon imposed the sentence of 33 months imprisonment on Lee, which will be followed by three years of supervised release. In addition to the prison term, he is required to repay $2.8 million in restitution. It is noted that there is no parole available in the federal system.

The case was investigated by the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division and the Department of Defense's Office of the Inspector General's Defense Criminal Investigative Service based in Charleston. Assistant U.S. Attorney John Potterfield is responsible for prosecuting this case.
