Robert Bowdish, a 78-year-old resident of Weybridge, Vermont, has been sentenced in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division. After pleading guilty to one felony count of possession of child sexual abuse materials, Judge Robert Katims sentenced Bowdish to eight years of probation. The terms include restrictions on internet access and contact with minors, along with mandatory completion of sex offender treatment. A violation of these conditions could result in a jail term ranging from two to five years. Additionally, Bowdish must register as a sex offender for ten years post-sentence.
The case was investigated by the Vermont Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (VT-ICAC), which handles incidents involving online child sexual exploitation. VT-ICAC's role includes forensic examinations, technical support, training for law enforcement, and public education efforts.
