A Brockton man, Malcolm Desir, has admitted guilt in federal court in Boston for his involvement in cocaine and illegal firearms trafficking within the Boston area. The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to multiple charges including distribution of and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, firearms trafficking, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young has set Desir's sentencing for May 28, 2025.

Desir was apprehended in November 2023 alongside co-conspirators Cordell Miller and Alan Robinson. Miller was identified as a trafficker of firearms and ammunition in the metro Boston area. A three-month investigation beginning in August 2023 revealed that Miller sold several firearms to a cooperating witness during controlled purchases and offered cocaine for sale. Desir handled the drug transactions, distributing powder cocaine during these controlled purchases and selling a firearm he had acquired from Miller two years earlier.

During a search at Desir’s residence, authorities recovered over one and a half kilos of powdered and crack cocaine, unidentified prescription pills, distribution paraphernalia, and two illegal firearms.

Robinson entered a guilty plea in January 2025 and is due for sentencing on April 15, 2025. Miller also pleaded guilty in February 2025 with sentencing scheduled for May 7, 2025.

The charges against Desir carry severe penalties. Distribution of controlled substances can result in up to 20 years imprisonment, while firearms trafficking could lead to up to 15 years behind bars. Being a felon in possession of a firearm also carries up to a 15-year sentence. Possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking mandates at least five years imprisonment but could extend to life.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; James M. Ferguson from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox. The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department provided valuable assistance in the case which is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm from the Major Crimes Unit.
