Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney has announced the filing of a criminal complaint against Junior Alexander Sanabria-Barrera, a 27-year-old Honduran national, for illegal reentry into the United States after being previously deported.
Court documents reveal that Sanabria-Barrera was removed from the U.S. in April 2023. He was found voluntarily present in Sumter County, Florida, on February 14, 2025, without having received consent from the Attorney General or the Secretary of Homeland Security to apply for readmission.
The announcement emphasizes that a complaint is simply a formal charge and that every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
The case is under investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Belkis H. Callaos.
