Vincent Jay Yau, a 42-year-old resident of Bokeelia, Florida, has pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material. Acting United States Attorney Sara C. Sweeney announced the plea and stated that Yau could face up to 20 years in federal prison. As part of his plea agreement, Yau will forfeit his laptop and cellphone used in the offense. The sentencing date is yet to be determined.

Court documents reveal that Homeland Security Investigations executed a federal search warrant at Yau's residence. During the search, agents found multiple electronic devices belonging to Yau containing thousands of files with child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including images depicting toddlers.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Mark Morgan.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project coordinates efforts from federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and rescue victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
