A Boston man, Kim Daley, 55, was sentenced to over ten years in prison for bank robbery and escape charges. The sentencing took place in federal court in Boston where U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton imposed a 125-month prison term followed by three years of supervised release. Daley also received a concurrent five-year sentence for the escape conviction.
Daley had pleaded guilty in April 2024 to one count of bank robbery and one count of escape from custody after being indicted by a federal grand jury in September 2022.
Previously, in July 2017, Daley was sentenced to 100 months in federal prison with an additional three years of supervised release for prior bank robbery convictions. On May 9, 2022, while serving his sentence at a Boston Residential Reentry Center (RRC), he left the facility without permission and did not return, leading to his classification as an escapee.
On June 20, 2022, Daley committed another bank robbery at a TD Bank in Cambridge by passing a note demanding money from the teller and stealing $560. Surveillance footage captured him entering and leaving the bank with cash. He was arrested approximately 40 minutes later in Cambridge with $560 on him.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Jodi Cohen, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Boston Division; and Christine Elow, Chief of Police in Cambridge. Assistant U.S. Attorney Suzanne Jacobus from the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
