The North Dakota Court System has announced an opening for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Juvenile Court located in Fargo, ND. The full-time role offers an annual salary of $51,900 and is open for applications until March 9, 2025.
The successful candidate will provide administrative, secretarial, and support activities for juvenile court services or court referees. Duties include typing, processing documents related to hearings, scheduling juvenile informal adjustment proceedings, answering department phones, maintaining files and records, handling restitution payments, and backup court recording responsibilities.
Candidates selected for interviews must undergo typing and grammar tests. The position requires a high school diploma and two years of secretarial experience. However, "any combination of education, training, or experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully complete the major responsibilities and essential functions may be substituted for the experience requirement."
Applicants should have considerable knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures as well as legal terminology. Proficiency in word processing software is also required along with excellent grammar skills.
Physical requirements involve light work that includes sitting, standing, walking among other activities. Travel within a unit may be necessary for court proceedings assigned to a district judge or referee.
