U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that Jeffrey Paden, 58, from Kennedy, NY, has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for possession of child pornography following a prior conviction. Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford handed down the sentence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango provided details on the case, noting that Paden was previously convicted in June 2015 on a federal charge of possession of child pornography and served 57 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.
On August 29, 2023, New York State Police executed a search warrant at Paden's residence after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). During the search, several electronic devices were seized, including a thumb drive and a laptop computer containing approximately 83 images and 468 images of child pornography respectively. Some images depicted prepubescent minors and violence against children.
The investigation leading to this sentencing was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force under Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia's direction, alongside the New York State Police led by Major Amie P. Feroleto and NCMEC.
