On February 11, 2025, United States District Judge Mary K. Dimke sentenced Dustin T. Perrin, a 41-year-old resident of Spokane, Washington, to eight years in federal prison for committing multiple bank robberies. In addition to the prison term, Judge Dimke ordered three years of supervised release and restitution amounting to $9,224.

Court documents revealed that on October 13, 2023, Perrin entered the First Interstate Bank branch at 57th Avenue and Regal in Spokane wearing a wig under his hat. He presented a bank teller with a bag and a handwritten note demanding cash while cautioning against triggering the silent alarm. The teller complied by handing over $1,986 in cash. Perrin then left the scene on a bicycle heading north.

The note was retrieved by law enforcement and analyzed at the Washington State Patrol Crime Laboratory, where DNA evidence confirmed Perrin's involvement.

Subsequently, on November 17, 2023, Perrin targeted the Numerica Credit Union branch on South Regal Street in Spokane. He handed two tellers separate bags and demanded money be placed inside them. The tellers gave him $5,238 in cash before he exited on his bike.

That same night, security footage from a Wal-Mart captured Perrin handling a large sum of cash during a purchase.

Perrin struck again on January 22, 2024, at the Washington Trust Bank located at 27 E. Indiana Avenue in Spokane. Disguised with a blond wig this time, he instructed the teller to fill his bag with money while implying he had a gun concealed under his jacket. The teller handed over $2,000 in cash before Perrin fled once more on his bicycle.

Acting U.S. Attorney Rich Barker remarked on the case: “For the people of Eastern Washington, their banks should be places of trust and security – not fear.” He emphasized that violent crime will not be tolerated and highlighted ongoing efforts to hold offenders accountable alongside various law enforcement partners.

W. Mike Herrington from the FBI Seattle field office commented: “Today we...are holding Mr. Perrin responsible for stealing from three different federally insured financial institutions.” He noted that although no one was harmed physically during these incidents, such crimes instill terror within communities.

Spokane County Sheriff John Nowels praised the collaboration among law enforcement agencies: “Today’s successful prosecution of Mr. Perrin is a testament to the strong partnership...and our commitment to keep our community safe.”

The investigation was conducted by the FBI Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force along with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Nowles Heinrich.
