Randall Walker Holland, a 51-year-old resident of West Jordan, Utah, has been sentenced to seven years in prison followed by a lifetime of supervised release. This sentencing comes after Holland admitted to distributing images of child sexual abuse.
Court documents reveal that between May 2 and May 9, 2024, Holland used his cellphone to communicate through social media and text messaging with someone he believed was abusing a 12-year-old victim. Unbeknownst to him, this individual was an undercover officer. During these communications, Holland sent over 1,000 video files containing child sexual abuse materials and expressed interest in engaging in sexual acts with the minor. Law enforcement arrested Holland when he arrived at the predetermined meeting location.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Trina A. Higgins from the District of Utah. The FBI Child Exploitation Task Force conducted the investigation.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Carol A. Dain prosecuted the case on behalf of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals exploiting children online while also identifying and rescuing victims.
