Armstrong Teasdale is pleased to announce the addition of Partners Richard P. O’Leary and Matthew J. Rice, and Counsel Joanne P. Rogers to the firm’s Litigation practice group. The highly skilled team, joining from Troutman Pepper Locke, will be based in the firm’s New York City office, further strengthening its capabilities in mass tort, complex commercial and product liability litigation.

With deep trial experience across high-stakes commercial disputes, mass torts, and product liability defense, this team will play a key role in expanding the firm’s national litigation footprint. Their arrival underscores Armstrong Teasdale’s commitment to attracting top-tier legal talent and delivering strategic, results-driven counsel to clients facing the most complex legal challenges.

Richard O’Leary is a veteran trial attorney in commercial litigation and product liability matters, including pharmaceutical and toxic tort litigation. He has tried dozens of cases to verdict in federal and state courts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida. He has also argued numerous appeals in federal and state courts in New York and New Jersey. He serves as both national counsel, overseeing litigation nationwide, and local counsel, managing all aspects of cases for several of the nation’s largest corporations and other companies, with a particular focus on the automotive manufacturing industry.

Matthew Rice advises and represents corporations in complex product liability matters and mass tort litigation, with an emphasis on defending claims by individuals alleging personal injuries. His experience also includes litigating contractual disputes, real estate brokerage commission claims, and defending manufacturers in subrogation property damage claims. He is also knowledgeable in corporate investigations.

Joanne Rogers has significant experience representing clients in the automotive, aircraft, boiler, pump and medical device industries on matters related to product liability litigation. Her experience extends to litigation involving pharmaceuticals, contracts, real estate, asbestos, benzene, landlord-tenant and family court. She has worked on large-scale electronic document reviews and redactions and is skilled at managing all phases of litigation, including development of pre-litigation strategy, management of discovery and negotiation of settlements.
