Horizon Middle School students from Bismarck visited the Supreme Court following a Constitution Fair held in December. The students, whose projects won at the fair, were accompanied by their parents and teacher, Ms. Caitlin Bauer, on this educational trip to the capitol on February 7th.

During their visit, they had the opportunity to meet several justices of the Supreme Court. Justice Lisa McEvers, along with Justices Douglas Bahr and Daniel Crothers, spoke with the students in the Supreme Court courtroom. They explained their roles and responsibilities as justices and answered questions posed by the students.

The group also met Secretary of State Michael Howe. He discussed his office's role in state government, including his duties as custodian of the Great Seal of North Dakota and his responsibilities for business registrations and elections.

Governor Kelly Armstrong engaged with the students behind his desk, discussing their rights under the U.S. Constitution, focusing particularly on privacy and speech rights.
