Protecting American Consumers Together (PACT), a national advocacy and educational organization, has launched a campaign to address exploitative practices in the personal injury legal system. Known for aggressive tactics, these "billboard attorneys" are said to increase costs for Americans and erode trust in the legal system.

PACT is investing over $10 million this year to promote consumer protection policies aimed at curbing abuses by personal injury lawyers. The organization plans to share stories of individuals affected by these practices, who often face increased debt and fewer options for fair settlements.

The campaign will begin with a significant advertising effort in Georgia, supporting legislation to combat lawsuit abuse. PACT's Executive Director Lauren Zelt said, "PACT is ready to hit the ground running, laser focused on delivering commonsense reforms to protect consumers, lower costs, and stand up for small businesses that have been victimized by the personal injury system."

The initiative includes targeted TV and digital ads exposing harmful practices, educational efforts to inform consumers about their rights, and policy advocacy promoting transparency and fairness in the legal system. PACT aims to lower costs for families by reducing legal abuses that inflate everyday expenses.

Joining PACT's Board of Directors are Paul Renner, Jessica Schmor, and Tim Capowski. These individuals bring experience from various fields including lawmaking, healthcare fraud investigation, and insurance fraud litigation.
