A St. Louis County resident has admitted to several serious charges, including drug robbery and carjacking. Walter C. Moore, 19, entered a guilty plea in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis on Tuesday for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possessing a machine gun, committing robbery and carjacking, and brandishing a firearm during a violent crime.

Moore confessed to using Facebook to arrange the purchase of $900 worth of Oxycodone on April 25, 2024. The transaction took place at Moore's residence when the seller arrived in her 2014 Mazda6. During the meeting, Moore drew a handgun, seized the pills, threatened the seller, and drove away with her vehicle.

Police found the stolen car near Chambers Road. Upon their approach, Moore attempted to flee but was swiftly apprehended. Authorities discovered he had discarded a Glock handgun modified with a machine gun conversion device, making it fully automatic; it also featured an extended magazine and laser sight. Photos of Moore with firearms were found on his phone. As a convicted felon, Moore is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Moore's sentencing is set for May 6. Both parties involved have agreed to propose a 15-year prison term.

The investigation was conducted by the St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Zachary Bluestone prosecuting.

This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities to enhance safety and trust while prioritizing strategic enforcement efforts.
