Attorney General Dave Sunday has announced that Rose Calese Horne, a dental assistant from Levittown, will serve 18 to 36 months in prison. Horne was sentenced for making false claims about her certifications, which allowed her to perform advanced dental procedures without a license.

Horne, aged 44, pleaded guilty to the felony charge of prohibited use of a radiation source and the misdemeanor charge of impersonating a holder of a professional or occupational license. A Bucks County Judge recently handed down her sentence.

According to Attorney General Sunday, "The defendant put patients at risk by performing procedures for which she was unqualified and untrained." He emphasized the importance of licenses and certifications in ensuring safe and legitimate care for patients.

Between October 2022 and October 2023, Horne was employed by three different dentists in Bucks County under false pretenses. She claimed she was licensed by the PA State Board of Dentistry to perform expanded functions such as installing crowns and bridges, filing down fillings, administering local anesthesia, and assisting with root canal surgeries. However, an investigation revealed that these claims were untrue.

In one instance at a dental practice where she worked, Horne took X-rays of five patients despite lacking the necessary training or licensing for such procedures.

The case against Horne was prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Thomas Ost-Prisco.
