A Franklin County jury has found a former youth baseball coach guilty of numerous charges related to sexual assault and invasion of privacy. The announcement was made by Attorney General Dave Sunday.
Justin Biser, aged 45, from Waynesboro, was convicted on Thursday of 65 offenses. These include sexual assault, indecent assault, child pornography, and invasion of privacy. The trial revealed that Biser's crimes involved two adults and three children.
During the three-day trial, evidence showed that Biser used his position as a coach to target young individuals between 2021 and 2023.
Attorney General Sunday commented on the verdict: “The brave survivors of this heinous conduct refused to let the defendant avoid accountability, and I commend the jurors for reaching a just verdict.” He further stated that Biser had betrayed the trust placed in him as a role model and mentor. "My office will continue to uphold its commitment to protect children and vulnerable people from predators," he added.
The prosecution team included Deputy Attorney General Julia van Leeuwen and Senior Deputy Attorney General Jaime Keating.
