The U.S. Attorney's Office has announced recent federal court arraignments for individuals facing serious drug-related charges. These proceedings took place before U.S. Magistrate Judges in Montana, where the defendants pleaded not guilty.
In Missoula, Oscar Gonzalez-Perez, 36, from Hesperia, California, appeared before Judge Kathleen L. Desoto on January 30. Gonzalez-Perez faces charges of methamphetamine distribution. If convicted of the most severe charge, he could face a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life imprisonment, along with a $10 million fine and at least five years of supervised release. The Missouri River Drug Task Force conducted the investigation into his case.
Nolan A. Anselmi, 28, from Bozeman also appeared in Missoula facing multiple charges including conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Anselmi's potential penalties include up to 20 years in prison for the drug charges and an additional mandatory minimum sentence of five years for the firearm charge if convicted. The Missouri River Drug Task Force also investigated this case.
In Great Falls, David Alan Moorse, 39, from Helena faced Judge John T. Johnston on January 30 for charges related to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances. If found guilty of the most serious offenses, Moorse could receive a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life imprisonment and a $10 million fine. The FBI’s Montana Violent Crime Task Force led this investigation.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt as their cases progress through the legal system.
