Aliyah Robyn Stalder, a 24-year-old resident of Seattle, Washington, has been sentenced to three years of probation for assaulting a flight attendant. The sentencing was delivered by United States Magistrate Judge Alison S. Bachus. As part of her probation, Stalder is prohibited from traveling on commercial aircraft without prior approval and must pay a $5,000 civil penalty imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration. Additionally, she is required to pay over $8,000 in restitution.
Stalder pleaded guilty on November 14, 2024, to charges of "Assault by Striking, Beating, or Wounding on an Aircraft." The incident occurred on February 9, 2023, during a flight from Seattle to Phoenix. During the flight, Stalder attempted to open multiple cabin doors and had to be restrained by crew members and passengers. In the process of being restrained, she assaulted one of the flight attendants.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Phoenix Police Department. The prosecution was handled by the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Arizona.
