Carla B. Freedman, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of New York

Jabree Jones, also known as "Breezy," a 32-year-old resident of Schenectady, New York, faces an indictment on charges related to drug trafficking and firearm offenses. The indictment includes allegations of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, as well as possession of firearms, including a machine gun, in connection with drug trafficking activities.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman; Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), New York Field Division; and Bryan Miller, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

It is important to note that the charges are accusations at this stage and Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The 16-count indictment details Jones' involvement in a drug conspiracy from January to May 2023. It cites 11 instances of drug distribution during this period and accuses him of possessing fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine with intent to distribute on May 23, 2023. This date marks when ATF and DEA agents conducted searches at properties on Western Avenue in Albany and another location in Halfmoon, New York. During these searches, Jones and his associates were found with 39 firearms—including an illegal machine gun—and significant quantities of drugs.

In connection with this investigation, Anthony Zaremski was fatally shot during a federal search warrant execution at his Clifton Park apartment after he reportedly opened fire on officers.

Several individuals have been charged alongside Jones:

- Anthony Luizzi admitted guilt for drug and firearm offenses linked to trafficking large amounts of drugs and possession of firearms found at both searched properties. He received a sentence of 210 months imprisonment along with a $10,000 fine.

- Brandon Bartley also pled guilty to similar charges involving drug trafficking and firearm possession. His sentence amounted to 180 months imprisonment plus a $5,000 fine.

- Devon Newsome confessed to transferring 29 firearms to Jones which were discovered at the Western Avenue property. He was sentenced to five years in prison.

The case is being investigated by the DEA and ATF with support from various law enforcement agencies including the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Inspector General (USDOL-OIG), Rotterdam Police Department, and Henry County Police Department in Georgia. Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Wentworth-Ping is handling prosecution duties.
