A Boston man has admitted guilt in connection with the Cameron Street gang, a notorious group involved in various criminal activities. Jonathan Darosa, also known as "Jeezy," aged 31, pleaded guilty to several charges, including racketeering conspiracy and drug trafficking. The plea was entered before U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young, who set the sentencing for May 1, 2025.

Darosa's involvement with the gang was uncovered during a two-year investigation. He distributed cocaine and oxycodone on two occasions to a cooperating witness. During an encounter with law enforcement, Darosa made threatening statements, such as “If I had a gun on me, I would have shot at you,” “I am not going back to jail,” and “I keep it on my hip.” In April 2021, authorities found Darosa carrying a Taurus 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol loaded with ammunition.

Court documents describe Cameron Street as a violent gang operating primarily in Dorchester, Boston. The gang is known for using violence to expand its territory and instill fear.

Darosa has previous convictions for unlawful firearm possession, including a three-year prison sentence from 2016 in Suffolk Superior Court.

The charges against Darosa carry significant penalties. Racketeering conspiracy can lead to up to 20 years in prison and substantial fines. Similarly severe penalties apply for drug distribution and firearm possession charges.

The announcement of Darosa's guilty plea was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley along with representatives from several law enforcement agencies including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the Drug Enforcement Administration; and the Boston Police Department. Multiple other agencies provided support in this case.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative aimed at dismantling major criminal organizations through collaborative efforts across various jurisdictions.

The indictment also names other defendants who are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
