On January 23, U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg sentenced Blaine Korbin Hulten to 20 years in prison, followed by 25 years of supervised release, for the production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Hulten, aged 24 and from Fort Pierce, Florida, confessed to engaging in sexual activities with a 13-year-old minor and a 16-year-old minor. He also admitted to recording the act involving the 16-year-old victim.
Court records showed that Hulten's social media accounts contained conversations with both victims and evidence indicating he was aware of their ages being under 18. The records further revealed that he distributed the recording of his interaction with the 16-year-old victim through a social media platform.
The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael S. Davis for the Southern District of Florida, Acting Special Agent in Charge José R. Figueroa of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Miami Field Office, and John Budensiek, Martin County Sheriff.
The investigation was conducted by HSI Fort Pierce and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Hudock prosecuted the case.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. This program aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute offenders who exploit children online while also identifying and rescuing victims.
