Three McGuireWoods lawyers were selected for inclusion on Business North Carolina‘s 2025 Legal Elite list, published in the magazine’s January 2025 issue.
McGuireWoods’ 2025 Legal Elite honorees include Raleigh partners Anne Croteau (corporate law) and Charlotte partners David Franchina (environmental) and John Hoke (corporate law).
Croteau was the top vote-getter in the corporate law category, earning her a place in the Legal Elite Hall of Fame. In a profile published by Business North Carolina, Croteau shared insights about her career path, family and interests outside of law. She said she benefited from “having to reinvent myself” after starting a family and expanding the scope of her practice.
“After being an M&A lawyer for a decade, I started doing debt financings and equity investments,” she said, adding that she now handles “all aspects of a leveraged buyout, which clients appreciate.” In addition to Croteau, McGuireWoods Raleigh partner Henry L. Kitchin Jr. is in the Legal Elite Hall of Fame for being a past top vote-getter in the antitrust category.Since 2002, Business North Carolina has published a list of the state’s top lawyers in business-related categories based on ballots cast by members of the North Carolina State Bar.
