Thompson Coburn announced today that its attorneys in Birmingham, Alabama, have moved into permanent office space at 2311 Highland Avenue South, a building known as The Crescent.
“Having a permanent location in such a sought-after area of this vibrant community marks an exciting milestone for our team as we focus on strategically enhancing Thompson Coburn’s capabilities in Birmingham and across the Southeast,” said Thompson Coburn Birmingham partner Tres Cleveland. “This new space not only reflects our commitment to clients in the city but also reinforces the firm’s investment in this region’s future.”
Thompson Coburn leased approximately 3,200 square feet on the third floor of the five-story building in the historic Highland Park neighborhood, just outside of downtown Birmingham. In preparation for the move, the firm has done a full reconstruction of the space over the past several months to meet its needs. Thompson Coburn launched its Birmingham office in April 2024 as it welcomed its first partners to the firm in temporary space.
There are currently seven firm professionals assigned to the Birmingham office, and the new space is set up to allow room for growth. Lawyers in Thomson Coburn’s Birmingham office dedicate a majority of their time to serving institutions of higher education and have extensive experience managing litigation, legal and policy matters for postsecondary institutions. The team also has significant litigation experience, including in the areas of business disputes, appellate practice, product liability and environmental matters.
