A man from Shreveport, Louisiana, has been sentenced to nearly two decades in prison for transporting a child for criminal sexual activity and illegal firearm possession. Acting U.S. Attorney Jennifer B. Lowery announced the sentencing of 39-year-old Isiah Lee Campbell Jr., who pleaded guilty on July 26, 2024.

Senior U.S. District Judge Sim Lake sentenced Campbell to 235 months in federal prison, followed by ten years of supervised release. The case dates back to a series of incidents in 2019 when Campbell transported a then-16-year-old victim from Louisiana to Houston for commercial sex work with adult men. He also advertised the victim on a prostitution website.

Authorities stopped Campbell in Harris County on June 6, 2019, while he was driving a reported stolen vehicle. A handgun was found under his seat, and the victim was identified as a runaway child from Louisiana who was with him at the time.

The victim recounted how Campbell threatened her life to coerce her into continuing commercial sex work under his direction. He took all the money she earned and sexually assaulted her multiple times.

Campbell will remain in custody until he is transferred to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and Precinct 4 Harris County Constable’s Office, with assistance from the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Bauman prosecuted the case.
