Attorney General Kris Mayes has expressed approval following a federal judge's decision to grant Arizona's motion for a nationwide temporary restraining order. This legal action is in response to President Trump's executive order attempting to end birthright citizenship.
Federal District Court Judge John C. Coughenour ruled in favor of the restraining order, which Attorney General Mayes described as "a win for the rule of law and the U.S. Constitution." She further stated that this decision is expected to be the first of many victories against what she terms "executive overreach" by the new administration.
Mayes emphasized, "No president can change the constitution on a whim and today’s decision affirms that."
