A Washington man has admitted to extorting clients by using fake online escort profiles, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. Abdul Kareem Kabba, 29, pleaded guilty in Alexandria, Virginia, to charges related to his scheme that operated from August 2020 through October 2024.

Court documents reveal that Kabba used images and videos sourced from OnlyFans to create fraudulent escort profiles on platforms like TheEroticReview.com. He would impersonate escorts and engage with individuals seeking services, requesting deposits via peer-to-peer payment systems or websites typically used by adult content creators. Additionally, he asked clients for identity verification through photos with identification and links to their social media accounts.

Once a client provided a deposit and identification details, Kabba resorted to blackmail. He threatened exposure of their attempts to solicit prostitution unless they paid more money. This scheme resulted in losses amounting to $692,000 for his victims.

Kabba is set for sentencing on April 9 and could face up to 20 years in prison. However, federal sentences are often less than the maximum penalties due to considerations by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

The announcement was made by Erik S. Siebert, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, alongside John T. Perez of the FRB-CFPB OIG after Judge Rossie D. Alston Jr.'s acceptance of the plea.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Hood and Trial Attorney Babasijibomi Moore are handling prosecution duties in this case.

Further information can be found on the websites of both the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia and the District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia or through PACER under Case No. 1:24-cr-263.
