A Bradford County man has been sentenced to over 12 years in prison for transporting a minor with the intent of engaging in illicit sexual conduct. Mark Douglas Miller, aged 45, from Wyalusing, Pennsylvania, received his sentence from Chief District Court Judge Matthew W. Brann. Following his imprisonment, Miller will be subject to 10 years of supervised release.
Acting United States Attorney John C. Gurganus stated that between January and March 2020, Miller "knowingly and willfully transported a minor across state lines with a motivating purpose of engaging in illicit sexual conduct."
The investigation was conducted by the FBI and Pennsylvania State Police, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Alisan V. Martin prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project involves federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and rescue victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.usdoj.gov/psc.
