Uriah Jordan Buffalo Chief-Torrez, II, from Sioux City, Iowa, has entered a guilty plea in federal court on charges related to child pornography. On January 21, 2025, he admitted guilt to one count of receipt and one count of possession of child pornography.
During the plea hearing, Buffalo Chief-Torrez acknowledged that individuals on various social media platforms attempted to show and sell him child pornography. He confessed that people on Telegram sold him "CP" for $65. Additionally, he admitted to viewing 15 or 16 videos containing such material. Buffalo Chief-Torrez further revealed he downloaded child pornography on nine occasions and streamed other content via social media. The materials included depictions of sadistic or masochistic conduct or the sexual abuse and exploitation of infants or toddlers.
Sentencing will be determined by United States District Court Chief Judge Leonard T. Strand following the preparation of a presentence report. Until then, Buffalo Chief-Torrez remains in the custody of the United States Marshal. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years' imprisonment with a potential maximum sentence of 40 years, along with a $250,000 fine and five years to life under supervised release after imprisonment.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project is led by United States Attorneys’ Offices alongside the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section and involves federal, state, and local resources focused on prosecuting offenders while identifying and rescuing victims.
