An Oklahoma fugitive, Sau Tau "James" Liu, was apprehended in California on January 14 by U.S. Marshals. This arrest comes only a week after Liu was placed on Attorney General Gentner Drummond's 10 Most Wanted list. The arrest resulted from collaborative efforts between the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office and the U.S. Marshals Oklahoma Metro Fugitive Task Force.

Liu faced a warrant from Lincoln County due to a November 2023 Multi-County Grand Jury indictment for trafficking over 25 pounds of marijuana. "This arrest again demonstrates the effectiveness of our 10 Most Wanted program and the strong partnerships between state, federal, tribal and local law enforcement," stated Drummond. He emphasized the importance of public engagement to hold individuals accountable for alleged crimes.

Public tips played a crucial role in generating leads after Liu was added to the list in early January. These leads led authorities to Sacramento, where Liu was captured successfully.

This capture marks the eighth successful apprehension from the Attorney General's Top 10 Most Wanted list, underscoring the program's ongoing success in bringing fugitives to justice.

Further information about other fugitives still at large can be found on the Attorney General’s 10 Most Wanted page. Financial rewards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 are offered for tips directly leading to arrests.
