Attorney General Ken Paxton has expressed his support for the inauguration of President Donald Trump, marking what he describes as "the beginning of a new era" in America. In a statement issued from Washington, D.C., Paxton emphasized a return to "foundational principles" under Trump's leadership.
Paxton criticized former President Joe Biden's policies, stating, "Together, we will secure our borders, uphold the law, and restore the freedoms that Biden’s unlawful policies sought to undermine." He further noted that on the morning of Trump's inauguration, he filed his final lawsuit against Biden's administration. Over four years, Paxton initiated 106 legal actions against Biden.
He accused Biden of abusing power and promoting a radical agenda detrimental to economic opportunity and national security. According to Paxton, this agenda was characterized by an expansive bureaucracy that undermined the law.
Reflecting on the recent election results, Paxton remarked, "In November, the American people gave Trump an overwhelming mandate to reverse the damage done and build a brighter, freer future." He assured that Texas is prepared to collaborate with Trump's administration to protect citizens' rights and uphold constitutional values.
