Attorney General Gentner Drummond expressed his condolences following the death of Burt Holmes, a prominent entrepreneur in Oklahoma. Holmes co-founded QuikTrip Corporation in 1958 and was known for his contributions to various sectors, including governance, education, and the arts.

"Oklahoma has lost a true giant with the passing of Burt Holmes. Wendy and I greatly cherished his friendship," said Drummond. He highlighted Holmes' achievements as a co-founder of QuikTrip and owner of The Holmes Organisation. Drummond noted that despite Holmes' wealth, he was dedicated to promoting good governance and supporting educational and artistic endeavors.

Drummond also reflected on Holmes' character: "Burt did not suffer fools, and if he believed you needed chastisement, he would gladly oblige – in spades. But if he believed you were a positive contributor to society, even in the smallest increment, you could count on Burt to encourage you and elevate your cause." Drummond concluded by acknowledging Holmes as unique and irreplaceable.
