Joseph Beach, a 55-year-old resident of Inwood, West Virginia, has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison for wire fraud. Beach admitted guilt in March 2024 to charges of misappropriating $253,867.12 from his father.

Court documents revealed that Beach was acting as the fiduciary for his father, who resides in a veterans' facility and receives monthly benefits. Instead of managing these funds appropriately, Beach diverted them for personal use.

In addition to his prison term, Beach is required to pay restitution amounting to $253,876.12 and will undergo three years of supervised release post-incarceration.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Eleanor Hurney. The investigation involved the Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and the Social Security Administration. U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh presided over the proceedings.
