Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Tina Wills has been named a 2024 Women in Law: Leaders Leaning In honoree by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. The annual list, compiled by nominations submitted to Law Bulletin Media, recognizes the “incredible women” practicing law in Illinois. In 2023, Ms. Wills was also recognized by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 40 Under 40 list.

“Tina is an exceptional attorney and her breadth of knowledge, her expertise and tenacity has been instrumental in achieving favorable outcomes,” said one nominator.

Ms. Wills is a Partner in Smith Gambrell’s Chicago litigation practice. She was previously a Partner at Freeborn & Peters, which merged with Smith Gambrell in 2023, she focuses her practice on complex commercial lawsuits, critical motions designed to resolve cases before trial, trials, and appeals. She counsels clients on strategic matters at all stages of litigation, from the initiation of lawsuits through and including proceedings before state and federal appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. She is also known for her pro bono work, including her representation of immigrants seeking asylum.

Ms. Wills earned her B.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University, cum laude, and her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, magna cum laude. She is a member of the Appellate Lawyers Association.
