Nelson Mullins’ Women Affinity Group, otherwise known as Women on the Go (or “WOGO”) was recently recognized in the December 2024 issue of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Women on the Go is a group that works to enhance the recruitment and retention of women attorneys, promote women’s leadership both within and outside of the firm, and to foster a better understanding among all the firm's attorneys of the unique issues facing women professionals.
With offices in the major North Carolina cities of Charlotte, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem, the firm continuously “demonstrates its commitment to inclusion every day and counts its positive track record as key to success over the firm’s 127-year history,” an excerpt of the issue reads, and called the group a “hallmark” of the firm.
The publication also cites data, such as Nelson Mullins’ executive committee being comprised of 33% women, and the firm’s four overall practice groups, including management group leaders that are 29% women. In addition, the firm is managed through 16 committees whose chairs are 44% women. To foster camaraderie and networking, the firm also hosts a networking reception for female attorneys.
Partners Alicia Ritchie, Suzanne Swaner, and Heather Toft are contacts for the group.
