Cory Daigle, a 30-year-old Federal Firearms Licensee from Revere, was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. This decision was made by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin in Boston federal court. In August 2024, Daigle pleaded guilty to multiple charges including trafficking firearms and illegal possession of a machine gun.

Daigle's legal troubles began with his arrest in January 2023 alongside Gustavo Rodriguez and Shakim Grant. A federal grand jury indicted him in March 2023.

United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy commented on the case: “Mr. Daigle utilized his status as a licensed firearms dealer to recklessly amass an alarming number of firearms...This sentence and moreover, this case entirely, should be a warning to other licensed federal firearms dealers in Massachusetts."

James M. Ferguson, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), Boston Field Division added: “Today’s sentencing demonstrates that those who exploit firearms laws for personal gain will be held accountable."

Daigle operated Steelworks Defense Solutions in Littleton where he facilitated firearm purchases for Rodriguez through Grant despite knowing Rodriguez was prohibited from owning guns due to his felony record.

In late 2022, Rodriguez arranged for Grant to purchase several firearms from Daigle on his behalf. The transaction included a Glock 23 pistol used later in a shooting outside Rodriguez's apartment.

A search of Daigle’s home uncovered multiple firearms and an incendiary device. During the investigation, Daigle attempted to mislead law enforcement and expressed willingness to resist government actions forcibly.

Grant received three years probation for his involvement while Rodriguez awaits sentencing scheduled for February 2025.

The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Levy with support from ATF SAC Ferguson and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox. The Revere Police Department also contributed significantly to the investigation led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Luke A. Goldworm.
