A man from Fall River has been charged in a federal court in Boston for drug trafficking. The charges stem from his alleged shipment of cocaine through the U.S. mail system, originating from California and intended for Massachusetts.

Justin Dupras, 42, faces a criminal complaint accusing him of attempting to possess cocaine with the intent to distribute. He is scheduled to appear in the U.S. District Court in Boston at a later date.

The charging document claims that on December 17, 2024, Dupras mailed approximately two kilograms of cocaine from a Los Angeles post office to Fall River. He allegedly returned to Massachusetts and picked up the package at the Fall River Post Office on December 19, 2024, after another individual signed for it.

The document further alleges that Dupras had previously sent packages containing cocaine from California to Massachusetts multiple times. For instance, on September 17, 2024, he reportedly mailed more than two kilograms of cocaine from Chino Hills to Fall River. Another shipment took place on October 29, 2024, when he allegedly sent around two kilograms of cocaine from Los Angeles back to Fall River. Flight records indicate Dupras returned to Massachusetts on the same days these packages were sent.

If convicted of attempting to possess cocaine with intent to distribute, Dupras could face up to 20 years in prison, a life term of supervised release, and a fine reaching $1 million. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge based on U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy and Ketty Larco-Ward of the United States Postal Inspection Service's Boston Division announced these developments. The investigation received significant support from the Fall River Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Abely.

All details in the charging document remain allegations until proven otherwise in court.
