Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the arrests of four additional individuals linked to an alleged auto theft ring in Southeast Michigan. The ongoing investigation, which began in May 2024, involves a criminal organization accused of stealing hundreds of vehicles from various locations, including new vehicle storage lots and car dealerships.

The group is suspected of selling stolen vehicles below market value on the black market and has allegedly been involved in other criminal activities. "With these charges, we are one step closer to dismantling an active, violent, and prolific criminal organization responsible for the thefts of hundreds of vehicles across our state," Nessel stated.

The Troy Police Department has been investigating this crime ring since August 2023. They partnered with the FORCE Team in early 2024, collaborating with several local police agencies and specialized units like the Oakland County Auto Theft Group. Recent efforts led to the execution of four arrest warrants on January 2 by multiple law enforcement agencies.

Those arrested include Davonta Jones, Donovan Tucker, Davion Tucker, and Timothy Bell—all residents of Detroit—each facing charges related to conducting a criminal enterprise. Additional charges involve receiving and concealing stolen motor vehicles. Arraignments took place on January 3 in different district courts.

The FORCE Team was established by Attorney General Nessel in January 2023 to target organized retail crime. This unit collaborates with retailers and law enforcement agencies to address such crimes effectively.

This investigation remains ongoing.
