Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP is pleased to announce the election of Alexander Brock, Cassie Daum, Nicole Kalkines, Jacob Obande, Morgan Manley, Melissa Salsano, Rachel Thomasen and Stephen Youngblood to its partnership effective January 1, 2025.

Forte, Smith Gambrell’s chairman and managing partner. “These fine lawyers ensure capable succession in key practice areas and we look forward to their continued positive impact on our clients and the firm.”

Mr. Brock is a partner in the Zoning, Planning and Land Use Practice in the Firm’s Atlanta office. His practice includes all aspects of land use and zoning law including re-zonings, variances, special or conditional use permits, special exceptions, subdivision approvals and all other permitting.

Ms. Daum is a partner in the Litigation Practice in the Firm’s Jacksonville office. Her practice focuses on general and complex commercial litigation, including contract and insurance disputes, employment and non-compete disputes, and real property litigation.

Ms. Kalkines is a partner in the Litigation Practice in the Firm’s Jacksonville office. Her experience includes shareholder disputes, complex contract disputes, defense of actions brought under consumer protection statutes, trust and probate litigation, real property litigation, products liability defense, and employment non-compete disputes.

Mr. Obande is a partner in the Energy and Construction Practices in the Firm’s Atlanta office. His practice includes counseling owners, developers, contractors, and subcontractors through the various stages of transaction and project life-cycles, including the initiation, planning, execution, controlling, and closing stages.

Ms. Manley is a partner in the Litigation, Art, and Bankruptcy Practices in the Firm’s New York office. Her practice involves complex commercial litigation, and she has extensive experience in both New York and New Jersey state and federal courts.

Ms. Salsano is a partner in the Construction Practice in the Firm’s New York office. She is an experienced construction lawyer, litigator and engineer who represents public and private owners and developers, international and domestic general contractors, and construction managers on a wide array of private and public construction and infrastructure projects.

Ms. Thomasen is a partner in the Corporate and Global Transport Practices in the Firm’s London office. She has extensive experience acting for lessors and financiers (debt and equity) on cross-border asset finance and leasing transactions, including full and limited recourse operating lease financings, export credit financings, portfolio acquisitions, sale and leaseback transactions, tax leases, finance leases, operating leases, restructurings and aircraft repossession.

Mr. Youngblood is a partner in the Litigation Practice in the Firm’s Atlanta office. His practice consists of defending complex antitrust matters and regulatory litigation with government agencies. Additionally, he has represented or advised clients in matters involving contract, dealer-termination issues, and suspension and debarment.
