A brother and sister from Clinton, Mississippi, were sentenced in a murder-for-hire plot targeting their stepfather. The court documents revealed that Joshua Druid Bryan, 29, and Regan Emily Bryan, 30, planned to hire a hitman to benefit from life insurance proceeds.

Regan Emily Bryan received a sentence of 65 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit murder for hire. Her brother, Joshua Druid Bryan, was sentenced to 120 months following his conviction on charges of conspiracy to commit murder for hire and murder for hire after a trial concluded on December 15, 2023.

The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee of the Southern District of Mississippi and Special Agent in Charge Joshua Jackson of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The ATF conducted the investigation into the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kevin J. Payne and Matthew Allen led the prosecution efforts. This case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), an initiative aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence by fostering trust within communities and supporting organizations that prevent violence.
