A Norfolk man, Adam Donley Greenberg, also known as Adam Brandon, has been sentenced to five years in prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The sentencing took place yesterday.

Court documents reveal that from June 2020 to January 2021, Greenberg, aged 39, obtained methamphetamine for redistribution from Michael Wade Kozak, who is 57 and resides in the Atlanta area. Kozak utilized FedEx to send methamphetamine from Georgia to Virginia. In return, Greenberg used Cash App and other methods for payment. Their communications and arrangements were conducted through a social media app.

On November 11, 2020, Greenberg received a parcel containing methamphetamine via FedEx at an apartment located in Norfolk. A few days later on November 14, narcotics detectives from the Chesapeake Police Department apprehended him at a hotel room in Norfolk where he was found with several others. During the search of the room, police discovered 85.24 grams of meth hidden behind a wall painting.

The announcement of the sentencing was made by Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia; Derek W. Gordon, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Washington D.C.; and Mark G. Solesky, Chief of Chesapeake Police following sentencing by U.S. District Judge Arenda Wright Allen.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Darryl J. Mitchell led the prosecution in this case.
